Description:
Participants in this project will work directly with small village organizations to help facilitate the development of small businesses in rural areas. Interns can pursue a wide variety of projects in collaboration with the local organization including business skills development, microloans, developing business plans, and project monitoring and evaluation. This internship is an incredible opportunity to learn firsthand about small scale economic development projects while also playing a role in poverty reduction in rural Uganda. This project requires interns to be creative self starters who are open to learning about and understanding cultural differences.
Highlights:
There is no friendlier or more welcoming country than Uganda. They are making steady progress as they recover from the terrible years of Idi Amin. Although there are still concerns about rebels in the far north, peace has come to the rest of the country. Tourism is on the rise with wildlife parks, rainforests, rafting on the Nile, and much more.
