Description:
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
IES internships are offered as academic options earning IES credit. They feature a strong academic component which includes an academic seminar and an evaluative report from the supervisor of the organization offering the internship. Participating students keep a journal with entries for each time they work at their internship site, and submit a final research essay analyzing an aspect of the internship experience. The IES Beijing program offers internships in business, education, and community service organizations. Recent placements have included organizations supporting US-China business relations, a multinational law firm specializing in start-up business, a U.S. state trade representative office, a small computer software company, an advertising company, an all-girls school, and a women's hotline.
